[diy] simple brunch + tea party decor.

I've mentioned in the last post ago how I had co-hosted a small brunch/tea party with my sister back in May.  Since it was just a small gathering of 9 gals, I opted for a fairly simple Alice in Wonderland-inspired DIY decor.  Here are the little touches that gave our Saturday morning eats a hint of whimsy.
1. DIY Fabric Bunting Banner - Yup, it's as simple as it looks!  Fabric, string/ribbon, and scissors - voila! That's all you really need!
 2. DIY Mustache on a Straw - My last post featured a short tutorial on how to make these snazzy straws/photo props.
The biodegradable paper straws can be found on Amazon and they come in different colors.
 3. DIY Ribbon Flags - Looks easy enough, right? Ribbon, skewers, scissors and 5 minutes of your time is all that is required.
 4. Tea Bag Cookies - I'll admit, these cookies took a bit of time. Most of the effort went into shaping, dipping and labeling. But hey, they make for cool table food and interesting convo starters!
 5. Perrier Bottles as Flower Vases - All those fancy European water you've been drinking, save those bottles! Not only do they add color to the decor, but also double as vases for various anything.

So there you have it, a few simple DIY decor to give your next brunch/tea gathering a bit of pizzaz.  Your food may even taste better because of it. ;-)

besos ... jin.
