diy // L-O-V-E glitter cake toppers.

I have a love affair with cake toppers. Particularly the handmade, simple ones. Often times I don't care what the cake flavor is. (That's a lie. Red Velvet or Lemon or Green Tea or any of my top 30 flavors all the way.) But as long as it's unique, fun, pretty - with a touch of whimsy - yah, I guess I really don't care what flavor it is!

Materials // Glitter paper. Skewers. Pencil. Scissors. Tape.

How To // 1. Take the glitter paper and turn it over to the backside. This is where you free-hand the L-O-V-E letters. Make them any size, and as wonky, as you like. The more imperfect, the better. Be sure to pencil in the letters backwards! // 2. Cut out the letters. // 3. Tape the skewers onto the backside of the letters. // 4. Go make some cakes/cupcakes pretty!

A much more affordable and temporary version than these BHLDN lovelies, innit?

  2. grrrl, you haven't seen tiny until you've seen my place. lol. you would've thunk i'd lived in nyc! (kim will attest to this!) but anyways, mucho thanks for checking out my diys! i've realized it's a bit misleading as i'm not really into crafts. cheap and insanely easy projects that i would rather do myself than pay an arm and a leg for the real deal - yes. otherwise, too complicated? - i'll just buy it, haha! but my heart really lies in taking pretty pictures. =) with the weather being all cold and not-so-agreeable, indoor activities has taken over temporarily. can NOT wait til spring rounds the corner so my camera eye can go out and play!

btw, lovin' your inner nurse's perspective in your posts. half my family are nurses and doctors (what filipino out there ain't related to one? =P), so i can whole-heartedly empathize. the medical field really needs more dedicated people like you!
